Andreas Wollenberg is a dermatologist and allergist and Professor in the Department of Dermatology and Allergy, Ludwig-Maximilian University of Munich, Germany. Currently, he is leading the pediatric dermatology unit, the atopic dermatitis special clinic and the dermato-allergological trial center

He studied medicine at Johannes-Gutenberg-University in Mainz and Ludwig-Maximilian-University in Munich, is board certified in dermatology and venereology and holds subspecialty certification in allergology, andrology and infectious diseases

His research interests include immunobiology of dendritic cells in inflammatory skin diseases, infectious complications of atopic dermatitis, topical immunomodulatory therapy, and drug-induced skin toxicity. In addition to preclinical studies, he is involved in multiple clinical trials and translational research projects relating to atopic dermatitis, perioral dermatitis, graft-versus host disease and epidermal growth factor receptor inhibitor-induced skin toxicity. He coined the term ‘proactive therapy’ of atopic dermatitis

He is the current chair of the Eczema/Atopic Dermatitis Task Force of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venerology EADV. He has authored more than 160 papers in peer-reviewed international journals, scored 860 impact points and a h-index of 40
He is editorial board member and regular reviewer for many biomedical journals. He is Author of Guidelines in Atopic Dermatitis 2018 published in JEADV and EDF
